Christine Lee

Originally from New Jersey, I am a writer and reporter with a passion for all things news and getting a clear message across. I am currently a reporter and obituary clerk for the Times-Tribune in Scranton, Pa. Previously, I was a reporter for the Times' sister publication, the Republican-Herald in Pottsville, Pa., and the editor of the Florham Park Eagle newspaper and the staff writer for the Madison Eagle, both part of New Jersey Hills Media Group. I also helped manage social media for New Jersey Hills Media Group.    

 

My work includes reporting for the Hunterdon County Democrat, a 21,000 circulation weekly newspaper serving Hunterdon County, N.J, part of NJN Publishing. As a reporter for the Democrat and NJ.com, I covered education, the town of Clinton and Clinton Township. I also posted breaking news and assembled the Kids Page, a feature published weekly and online with entries from Hunterdon County students. Additional responsibilities included organizing information for the paper's 2015 coverage of Hunterdon County high school proms. My experience also includes taking pictures, video work and creating online galleries.  My past experience includes freelance reporting for The Express-Times, a 40,000 daily and 48,000 Sunday circulation newspaper serving the Lehigh Valley area and Warren and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey. As an intern with Wilkes University's Associate Director of Public Relations, I wrote hometown press releases and feature stories for Wilkes' alumni magazine and faculty and staff newsletter. I also interned with WBRE/WYOU TV, the NBC and CBS affiliates in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. There I shadowed reporters on assignments, helped producers develop broadcasts and worked with the assignment editor to develop coverage. I am a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and Lambda Pi Eta, the communications honor society.

 

I graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. in May 2014 with a degree in communication studies. While at Wilkes I served as the news editor of my campus' award-winning student newspaper, The Beacon and a reporter for the student-run on-campus television program 'Wilkes Now.'
